Medical questions often contain information from a specific treatment case. In Private Chat, Idana does not store history, responses, or attachments as a server-side chat or as server files. The history remains encrypted in this browser for up to seven days. For each response, the selected content is transmitted live to the AI provider.
This keeps the decision simple: Patient data belongs in Private Chat. There, Idana does not store the chat server-side.

A secure AI workspace for medical practices: physicians and practice teams draft texts, structure workflows and research clinical questions – with a general chat mode and six curated assistants with proven templates. Developed by Idana AG, building digital patient intake for practices since 2016.
In many practices, AI today runs as shadow IT: private, often free accounts – without a contract, without control and without any guarantee that your input is not used for model training. Idana AI Assist, by contrast, is developed specifically for the needs of medical teams: with curated assistants and prompt templates for everyday practice, a data processing agreement and a guaranteed absence of training on your data. On top of that: a German company with servers in the EU – instead of a US provider without a location guarantee.
Idana AI Assist uses current models from leading providers, operated in the EU region of our cloud – processing takes place in the EU. Your inputs are used neither for training nor fine-tuning general AI models; this is governed by the data processing agreement and secured on the provider side. Prompts, responses, and uploads do not end up in log files, and for patient-related content, there is also Private Chat.
You ask your clinical question as usual – the answer comes in plain language. In addition, a second AI checks which official guidelines match and displays them with title, registration number, and a direct link to the original source. The clinical assessment always remains with you.

Yes – from Standard. You describe in one sentence what the template should do, and Idana AI Assist creates it for you. Your own templates can be saved per assistant (up to three) and shared with the whole team if you wish.
As soon as information regarding a specific individual is involved, we recommend Private Chat. For patient data, always. For everything else – templates, phrasing, organization, specialist questions without reference to a case – standard chat is more convenient because the history is retained for seven days and responses can be transferred to the work tray. You can switch a standard chat to private retroactively; conversely, doing so in reverse is intentionally not possible.
No. Idana AI Assist is a standalone product and works independently of other Idana solutions – for practices of any size, including solo practitioners.
Idana AI Assist runs in the browser: Create an account, invite your team, get started – no installation, no maintenance, no IT project. There is currently no interface to practice management systems; content enters the chat via typing, upload, photo, or dictation, and results come out via Word or PDF export.
